Ginger Zingiber officinale
Aromatic Description: Boldly warm, earthy and grounding with spicy and sweet notes.
Description
For centuries, ginger has been a worldwide apothecary staple. This pungent rhizome is prized in Ayurveda for its warming and drying properties and cherished in Traditional Chinese Medicine to dispel cold and awaken the body's inner warmth. As ginger traveled westward, its uses became entwined with modern culinary culture for it's gift at supporting digestive balance. In autumn, fresh or dried ginger is added to ciders and baked goods, in hopes of supporting healthy immunity and infusing a sense of warmth during the cooler, darker months.
Strong, spicy and full of vigor, ginger essential oil encourages movement and flow. Honoring its roots in traditional herbal practice, ginger essential oil may support digestive flow, especially when meals feel heavy and sluggish. When joints and muscles feel stiff and tender, ginger supports the body's natural inflammation response and gets you moving again. This supportive oil also warmly kindles boldness and enthusiasm during moments when our confidence and creativity feel blocked. Whether diffused to enliven a room or applied topically to support physical resilience, ginger essential oil invites us to stand tall and embrace our inner strength.
